Getting married in Australia, you have so many amazing locations to choose from for your wedding day. Whether you want to say your ‘I do’s’ in beautiful Sydney with its amazing landmarks or in the cultural city of Perth, you have a huge choice when picking the location for your wedding day. With a warm climate all year around, you could even hold your ceremony on a beautiful beach somewhere, looking over the golden sands. With so many beautiful hotels and resorts to hold your big day, you will be spoiled for choice when searching for the perfect venue. There are some legal aspects you will need to consider which you wedding planner will be able to assist you with.
To marry in Australia you first need to contact a Marriage Celebrant. The Celebrant will require a 'Notice of Intended Marriage' at least one month and one day prior to the ceremony. Both parties to the wedding must have their signatures on this form witness by an Embassy official. The form can be downloaded from the Attorney-General's Department. If it is not possible for both parties to sign the form when notice is required to be given, one signature will suffice but the second person must sign in the presence of the celebrant before the marriage is solemnised.
