If you are an avid shopper always on the lookout for a good deal, then a honeymoon in Aruba is an excellent choice. Aruba is a free zone, which translates into some amazing deals on brand name items including clothing and jewellery. If it’s a party you’re looking for, a honeymoon in Aruba in January will set you down in the middle of the biggest celebration of the year – Carnival! Be prepared for lots of music, costumes, and wild parades full of dancing. For the active types there’s no shortage of water sports, including diving and snorkelling of course, flamingo watching and hiking. The people of Aruba are known for their laid back and welcoming nature, and you will feel right at home during your honeymoon in Aruba.
- As with many other Caribbean destinations, you may be dreaming of long days on the beach sipping cocktails, evenings out dancing, and maybe some snorkel trips. All of this is possible, but here are three additional activities you should consider while on your honeymoon in Aruba:
Visit Huliba Cave, also known as ‘The Tunnel of Love’ because of its heart shaped entrance. Once inside, you can admire the ancient cave drawings along the 90- meter-long passageway – but don’t forget your flashlight!
- Take a relaxing horseback ride along the coast and enjoy the breathtaking ocean views.
Take in the view from Hooiberg (Haystack Mountain), where you can see the mountains of Venezuela in the distance after climbing up the 562 steps which lead to the top.

The local currency is the Arubin Florin although the US Dollar is also accepted.

Travel Documents
Visitors from Ireland do not require a visa for their honeymoon in Aruba. Your passport must be valid for at least three months after your date of departure from Aruba, and you will be required to present an onward or return ticket that shows you will be leaving the island within 30 days. You’ll land at Queen Beatrix International Airport, and from there you have the choice of making use of local buses and taxis, or renting a car of your own for part, or all, of your honeymoon in Aruba.
