All together, the three islands have a population of somewhere just over 50 000 people, representing more than one hundred different nationalities. Currently, these islands enjoy the highest standard of living of all the Caribbean nations and are a major international financial centre. For a typical Caribbean getaway, a honeymoon in the Cayman Islands will be right up your alley. Whether you’re looking to relax and sip cocktails at an upscale resort or take a walk on the wild side, you’re bound to find something that will suit your fancy. And with a characteristic American flavour, you won’t feel that you’ve just arrived in a British territory. With a flavour a little less flamboyant than, but just as unique as many other Caribbean destinations, a honeymoon in the Cayman Islands is the answer for those looking to enjoy the quieter side of life.
During your honeymoon in the Cayman Islands, you’ll want to take the time to plan in these one-of-a-kind experiences:
- Arrange a romantic dinner cruise on a 19th century tall ship. Talk about old-fashioned romance!
- Hike through the forests of Grand Cayman along the Mastic Trail. It dates back to the 18th century and connects Frank Sound to Old Man Bay.
- Go snorkelling! Nature lovers can swim alongside sting rays, or explore a shipwreck from a safe distance.
