During a honeymoon in Chile it’s possible to participate in a wide variety of outdoor activities, based on your interests. Depending on the type of vacation you seek, you can plan to go skiing or hiking, or you can lounge on the beach and bask in the sunshine. One thing’s for sure – if you plan your honeymoon in Chile you’ll be treated to a one-of-a-kind experience.
For a truly amazing honeymoon in Chile, be sure to visit the following places:
- Collowara Observatory near La Serena, where you can take a look at far off galaxies. Chile is known for its clear, pollution free skies – perfect for star gazing.
- Easter Island! The moai stone figures are well known worldwide, and the island is one of the most remote inhabited areas on earth.
- The island of Chiloe, where you can wander among (and peek inside) the old, colourfully painted wooden churches.
Key honeymoon facts about Chile
When to go:
Chile is a large, long country stretching from the southern most tip of South America upwards to Bolivia and Peru. As such, during your honeymoon in Chile you can expect to experience a climate which varies wildly from one area of the country to another. In the north, it is hot and dry, and in the far south it is cold and rainy. The middle regions have a characteristic Mediterranean climate, with the wet season falling from May to August. Most parts of Chile experience four distinct seasons: spring (September to November), summer (December to February), autumn (March to May), and winter (June to August). If you’re planning on soaking up some sun on a gorgeous beach during your honeymoon in Chile, be sure to plan ahead. The busiest months are January and February, during which beaches are crowded and bookings are required far in advance. If you’re coming from the northern hemisphere, don’t forget that the seasons will be opposite from what you’re used to!
