Maureen and Tom’s informal, intimate wedding ceremony was followed by a large reception for 180 guests at Ballyseede Castle Hotel in Kerry. The castle was the only venue the couple viewed when planning their wedding, and they fell for it straight away, as it was perfect for their large wedding party. Guests were seated at tables named after countries Maureen and Tom had visited on their travels, and tucked into a sumptuous meal, including a scallop or black pudding starter, soup, fillet steak or sea bass mains and a trio of desserts. Instead of favours, the newlyweds had made donations to the Milford Hospice, and left cards out explaining this.
The couple also provided a framed photo of themselves to be signed by guests, as a keepsake from their special day. Guests were entertained by witty speeches, before partying to the sounds of a wedding band, followed by a DJ.
