Maureen’s brother borrowed a friend’s BMW and decorated it appropriately, before using it to get his sister to the church. They weren’t quite on time, but in keeping with a bride’s prerogative, Maureen kept her groom waiting for 30 minutes, before she pulled up at the church where her mother was buried for the informal, happy and laughter filled ceremony. Her proud father gave her away.
The newlyweds then drove on to the reception at Ballyseede Castle Hotel in a hired 1970s MG B Roadster, which they drove themselves. This was a great way for Tom and Maureen to spend some time together as husband and wife before the party started. The car was customised with personalised decorations, including a ‘Just Married’ sign, which proudly boasted both of their names and their wedding date.
