Lisa Hynes Photography

Lisa Hynes is an honours graduate of the Kent Institute of Art and design where she studied graphic fine art, specialising in photography. Classically trained, Lisa’s first love is dark-room based, traditional photography, the methods of which she has seamlessly transferred to digital age. On graduating, Lisa started her career as a photographic lab assistant in Canterbury, England, where she learned about the technical fundamentals of photography from the ground up, also becoming friends with local photographers and assisting them on shoots. On moving to Ireland she spent many years working in various studios as a portrait photographer before deciding that weddings were where her talent was best applied, allowing her artistic roots to shine through. Lisa’s approach to photography is relaxed and unassuming, taking creative influence from the beauty of real life. Always keeping a low-profile on a couple’s wedding day, Lisa captures the magic without fuss or upheaval and remains a constant, unobtrusive presence throughout the day. Her easy-going and pleasant manner coupled with her consistently beautiful work has made her one of the most popular wedding photographers in the Galway area.
