The December Real Wedding Round Up
Can you believe that it’s Christmas next week? We’re all feeling rather festive here in the hitched office and can’t wait to wear our cringiest Christmas jumpers and drink lots of mulled wine!
It’s been an amazing year for weddings and it’s been a pleasure to share so many of your wonderful stories. As it’s the last real wedding round up of the year, I thought it would be great to look back at two of our amazing real weddings from this year.
If you’ve recently got married or are tying the knot in the New Year, don’t forget you can submit your own real wedding if you fancy being featured on hitched.
Conni and Trevor
We featured this couple on hitched last week and as you can tell from the pictures, this was a gorgeous and summery celebration!
Conni and Trevor’s real wedding was filled with and vintage, homemade touches and they had a lovely colour scheme of dusky pink and tiffany blue – all photographed wonderfully by Kevin Morris Photography.
The beautiful bride went for a classic pin up look when it came to bridal beauty and wore her black hair in a loose, curled style along with exaggerated eyes and a bright lip.
Conni’s stunning wedding dress was a customised Enzoani number that was originally a ballgown but was changed to a stylish fishtail shape. There was no doubt the finished dress suited her down to the ground!
Conni’s bridesmaids wore floor length multiway dresses in the tiffany blue shade of the colour scheme. Each dress was worn in a different style to give each of the girls a completely unique look – a definite plus if you’ve got a lot of bridesmaids!
To accompany her bespoke wedding dress, Conni wore a pair of stylish embellished shoes that had an intricate strappy design. I had total shoe envy when I saw these.
As for Trevor, he picked out a blue three piece suit that was finished off with a tiffany blue tie and brown shoes with a matching belt. This couple certainly scrubbed up very well indeed!
At their reception at Mullingar Park Hotel, Conni and Trevor complemented their vintage style décor with DIY jam jar favours for the guests, a sweet table and a finger print tree.
I especially loved the ‘sign a jenga’ piece idea which was a quirky way to get mementos from their friends and family!
After Conni and Trevor’s perfect wedding day, they jetted off on their dream honeymoon to Dubai and Thailand where could enjoy some quality newlywed time and experience new things.
Thinking about sun, sea and sands has me longing for summer days once again!
Natal and Ian
Going back to another summer wedding from June, I absolutely loved Natal and Ian’s real wedding which took place in sunny Lanzarote.
Photographed by James Mitchell, the gorgeous couple’s wedding was drenched in sun and featured fabulous food, picture perfect sea views and scorching sunshine – everything you’d want from a destination wedding basically!
Natal tried on no less than 20 dresses in her to quest to find ‘the one’, so in the end she decided to have one custom made for her! The statement had a dramatic mermaid skirt and had plenty of bling thanks to the diamante detailing.
Ian and his groomsmen opted for matching grey suits with a lighter shirt, grey bow tie and tan shoes. Because of the heat, they all accessorised with some rather eye catching neon sunglasses!
Natal and Ian’s tiered wedding cake was an absolute dream for chocolate lovers. It had two lovely layers covered in white and milk chocolate with a soft sponge centre.
It was topped off with an amazing, customised cake topper that featured the couple along with all the things they love. Ian had a football and boxing gloves to represent his love of sport and Natal’s figure had make up and shopping bags of course!
After their beautiful Spanish wedding, Ian and Natal planned a trip to Miami and Cancun as well as a cruise around the Caribbean for their honeymoon. As Ian wanted to go to America and Natal wanted to go on a cruise, it only made sense to combine both their desires into one incredible trip!
That’s it for this year’s last real wedding round up. Don’t forget to submit your real wedding to hitched if you want to be featured.
I look forward to sharing lots of new real weddings in the New Year!
