The Radisson Blu Athlone helped to make our wedding day (28th June 2014) the most memorable day of our lives. Tanya, Aisling, Dean, and the staff of the hotel went to great lengths for us from the the chocolate fountain to suit our little guests (and bigger guests!!), to the mouthwatering evening buffet.
Back in February 2013 we arranged to view 9 hotels in the areas of Loughrea, Ballinasloe, Athlone and Glasson. Each hotel offered great packages but there was something that stood out for us with the Radisson. Tanya was so welcoming and friendly and gave us so much time and advice. She is a person who we could easily relate to as she had recently married herself. At our food tasting we and our guests were treated very well. All the food was so tasty it made it difficult to decide what to have on the day. Dean, the head chef, met with us and gave us great advice. We have had nothing but compliments from our guests about the food and wine on the night. We have attended many weddings in the surrounding areas and the Radisson by far stands out as the best.
One of the most memorable parts of our day was the arrangement of tea lights in the shape of a heart on the terrace. It was nothing short of magical to have our first dance under the stars.
As it is situated right on the Shannon in the heart of Athlone, The Radisson have the option of a boat arrival. We opted not to have the Viking boat and Tanya and Aisling helped to arrange Barracuda boats. It was brilliant to have a drink and a few pictures in Sean's bar with the bridal party and arrive by boat with all our guests waving from the terrace. The red carpet and champagne reception from the pier made our arrival so special.
In short the Radisson Blu Athlone have made our wedding day the best day of our lives with their professionalism, attention to detail and overall friendliness that is still talked about among our family and friends.
