Honeymoons in the Cayman Islands
The Cayman Islands are a British Overseas Territory made up of three little islands - Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac, and Little Cayman – and are located just next to the deepest part of the Caribbean Sea. With long beaches, a history rife with shipwreck and pirate tales, world class diving, and a lively yet toned down nightlife, your honeymoon in the Cayman Islands promises sun, sand, and relaxation! Although the islands aren’t quite as lush as some of their neighbours, they are home to 27 species of indigenous orchid, and if you schedule your honeymoon in the Cayman Islands between June and September you’ll find fresh mango being sold at roadside stands.
Cayman Islands Overview
All together, the three islands have a population of somewhere just over 50 000 people, representing more than one hundred different nationalities. Currently, these islands enjoy the highest standard of living of all the Caribbean nations and are a major international financial centre. For a typical Caribbean getaway, a honeymoon in the Cayman Islands will be right up your alley. Whether you’re looking to relax and sip cocktails at an upscale resort or take a walk on the wild side, you’re bound to find something that will suit your fancy. And with a characteristic American flavour, you won’t feel that you’ve just arrived in a British territory. With a flavour a little less flamboyant than, but just as unique as many other Caribbean destinations, a honeymoon in the Cayman Islands is the answer for those looking to enjoy the quieter side of life.
During your honeymoon in the Cayman Islands, you’ll want to take the time to plan in these one-of-a-kind experiences:
