Guests arrived at Castle Dargan and were offered a wintry selection of mulled wine, hot whiskey, tea, coffee and hot chocolate. These were followed by trays of canapes featuring miniature scones and mini mince pies ahead of the sumptuous wedding breakfast that guests would soon be tucking in to.
The different courses consisted of a warm chicken brochette; a potato and leek soup with truffle cream; a choice of beef or salmon featuring a potato crust; Toblerone cheesecake plus sandwiches, cocktail sausages, cupcakes and chocolate biscuit cake for later on in the evening.
The reception tables were decorated elegantly with touches of wintry, festive detailing. The centerpieces consisted of a wooden slab with a pretty candle-lit lantern and springs of holly sitting on the top. The candles gave the wedding reception a warm glow and having low centerpieces kept the wedding guests chatty and social throughout the wedding reception.
