We got married in August 2020 and we have nothing but good memories of the day. From the time we booked the venue all the way up until the morning after our wedding day, the standard of care, courtesy, and professionalism was second to none. The first time we chatted with Denise and Rachel they were so welcoming and easy to deal with, nothing was ever a problem, and anything we needed to know Denise or Rachel were always on the other side of the phone or email. Obviously, due to COVID things were changing on a week to week basis but I was always kept in the loop and up to date with protocols and I was never chasing them for answers. The organisation should have been very stressful with the constantly changing guidelines but Rachel dealt with everything for us so that we had no stress. We had a lovely evening doing the menu tasting and in the few weeks leading up to the wedding and met the night manager Stephen who put us all at ease about how everything would run on the big day. As for the wedding, the food was amazing and we received a huge amount of positive feedback about the meal and the drinks reception; all of the steaks were cooked to perfection, the glasses were never empty! The service was just out of this world! The one thing we loved about on the day was we didn’t have to worry about anything as Rachel, Jillian (The Food and Beverage Manager) and Stephen (The Night Manager) had everything under control and they went above and beyond our expectations. I would highly recommend The Great Southern Hotel for your special day as the venue itself with its' beautiful gardens are perfect for your wedding photos. This is another huge advantage as we were able to get photos inside and outside the venue. There is a reason the Great Southern has such a good reputation for weddings; they are extremely good at what they do. Overall I can only describe our special day as magical. Without a doubt, we had an absolutely amazing day and there's nothing we could fault, even weeks later looking back. I would no hesitation recommending the Great Southern for a wedding! Hi we have just returned from my brother’s wedding and I would like everyone to know that the people who own/run Kilshane house locked our children and those of the other guest away in a separate part of the hotel during the wedding meal and then denied it, I cannot recommend this venue and found the owners attitude and actions appalling.

We got married on the 17th August 2018, it was so relaxed and beautiful. Dealing with Eve, Caroline and staff throughout the planning was so straight forward. Any questions we had were answered ASAP and they were all so helpful. Food was beautiful, views were spectacular and the hotel was tucked away from all the hustle and bustle of roads, towns and cities. Their cabins are fab and roomy. Balcony bedroom is especially comfortable and spacious. We were so delighted to be able to have our Wedding in Aherlow House. Thank you for making our Wedding Day special.

I had my wedding in the Maryborough June 2010 and what an amazing day it was .The hotel itself has a mix of the old vintage feel with a modern updated twist . As it was summer and fabulous weather so we had a marquee out in the gardens with the champangne reception , guests were in awe of this beautiful 5 star extravanganza , staff were so nice and accommodating with several requests . The dinner was absolutley ravishing , all the guests were talking how nice the food was especially for a big wedding of 195 . The room itself was stunning with no extra flowers or costs needed . The staff from when we booked the wedding until it was over could not have been more helpful & friendly . The only regret I have is that I never organised a post wedding barbuque for the Sunday , but still all friends and family chilled out in beautiful gardens for the afternoon having a few glasses of wine reminiscing about the days events . All in all I would highly recommend the Maryborough to anyone who wants a beautiful , elegant and quality day . It is well worth it !!! Xxxxx

"Where do I begin?! There is so much to commend the Heights Hotel on. To begin with, we were overseas when we got engaged & when my sister viewed and recommended this hotel, from then onwards it got better and better. The staff, whether it was on reception or in reservations, always were courteous and professional with me, each & every time I rang/emailed them. I know I was one of many contacting them but I always felt my queries were dealt with promptly. Thank you! A special thank you to Natalie, she is superb at her job. Everything appeared so effortless in how she worked to accommodate all our requests & changes. Again, I know she had other weddings & events to organise but we definitely felt solely focused on whilst dealing with her. This is a credit to her as I know organising and coordinating the wedding is a major responsibility to be given & she did an amazing job right up to the day and on the day itself. We had a great day, arrivals, seating, food etc was excellent & most of all we didn't have any worries. I highly recommend Natalie Bader to organise anyone's wedding, thank you Natalie!"

Thank you so much for a super wedding weekend we were able to host for our small group with your help at this amazing estate. Kate, you made it so easy for us to plan the wedding from abroad and we really appreciated all you advice and quick responses when planning as well as during the weekend itself. Everything was spot on. Adele you were just so lovely! And made a gorgeous wishing tree for us, with branches and flowers from the estate. Aiden, you were amazing during the whole weekend. From suggesting to have the ceremony up by the lake house (such a special spot) to lending us your jambox and fixing me up with the largest glasses of baileys anyone has seen, to your legendary selfie in the ball pond, thanks so much. All our guests (and us too) were really impressed with the food, from our informal pre wedding homemade pizza party to the most delicious dessert table on our wedding day, we”ve had so many guests telling us how much they enjoyed it, so fab job Pamela! The rooms as well as the communal areas of the house felt so luxurious and cosy at the same time, we really felt like it was our home for the weekend. The grounds are spectacular, with the gorgeous lake and of course the sky garden. Its just truly magical and was also ideal for our group with quite a few kids aged 1-3, who had the best time roaming around the grounds. We had such a great weekend and could not have asked for more. Thanks so much for helping us create this special memory.”

We had our wedding on New Years Eve and it was magical. From the decor and festive atmosphere to the service it was all exceptional. I would highly recommend this hotel for your wedding. The staff made it all special for us. Bernie the wedding Planner was very professional and helped us with ideas and suggestions for the big day! The management Niall on the day was very efficient , approachable and we trusted that all was in capable hands for the event. Friendly staff and compliments to John the Chef for the fabulous food. Our guests were very impressed with the whole day from the service, food, venue the lot! Thanks for an amazing memorable day!

We had our wedding reception at the Brehon and stay a night or two every time we're back in Kerry. Highest standards for the price and hotel rating. Keep up the good work. I would like to see more choice from the movie guide in the room but It’s a tiny complaint, I should be outside more anyway ;-)

Joanne O'Donovan We got married here on the 4th June 2016. The Sneem hotel was just amazing and made our day even more special. The location is stunning, we are both from West Cork and a lot of our guests had never been to Sneem before, they were just blown away by the place. On the run up to the wedding we were constantly in contact with Louise, who would always provide us with the best advice and nothing was ever too much bother. She's a real people person and would put you at ease straight away. The day off the wedding Louise and the staff really pulled it out of the bag. All the guests loved the food, the hotel looked amazing and the service was top class. It was the little touches and extras which I really loved and makes Sneem different from anywhere else. It was an epic day and I loved every minute of it!!
