Getting married will be one of the most significant events in a person’s life. Next to graduating from university and having a child, when a man and woman say their I do’s, it will truly be one of their biggest moments.

In preparation for such an occasion, it is unsurprising that most people will want to have a major party beforehand to commemorate the change from single life to future married life.

So what are the most memorable ways of letting off some serious steam before the big day arrives?

Being the typical boys that they are, the men will undoubtedly settle for a night out at the local pub with endless rounds of pints and packets of Pork Scratchings. But surely a stag night should be more significant and momentous than just that?

A popular option amongst many men is to go out on the town for a crazy night with all the blokes. The very committed best men will hire the very important stripper. Providing the bride is ok with this particular arrangement!

However, we have come up with some more original ways for future married men to enjoy their last few days of freedom. One very good idea is to go on a cheap city break in Europe somewhere like Amsterdam or Prague. This gives them the chance to take in all the sights and sample the local beer!

For those slightly more clean living guys, go on an activity or adventure weekend. Paintballing, rock climbing and quad racing are all commonly enjoyed by stag parties, followed by a few quiet drinks at a country inn.

However, as you know, it is not just the groom-to-be who is entitled to a break before the big day arrives. The bride is most likely to have organised the majority of the wedding, she will definitely need a chance to unwind.

Traditional hen parties are still popular as well as having a wild night out on the town. Although it is considered rather tacky and old-fashioned, there is certainly no rule that says the girl should not be treated to a male stripper!

Stag or hen parties aren’t necessarily for everyone. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the bride and groom-to-be to want to spend their last days as single people together. Whatever they choose to do, the chance to let off some steam is the most important part as the wedding day should then be a bit of a doddle!
